NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team defeated Cal State Northridge 6-1 Wednesday at the Northridge Tennis Complex.
The Gauchos started the match well, winning the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and 2 doubles. The Gauchos nearly swept all six singles matches, losing at No. 4 singles. UCSB's Uzma Khan defeated Tereza Simonyan at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-1 for her 16th straight dual match singles win. Khan is an undefeated 16-0 in dual match play this season and is 26-2 overall.
The Gauchos travel to Sacramento this weekend for matches with Sacramento State Friday, St. Mary's Saturday and Nevada Sunday.
The Gauchos are now 11-5 overall while Cal State Northridge falls to 13-7.
