DAVIS, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara swept the opening doubles matches then took five of six singles contests as it defeated UC Davis, 8-1, in a non-conference women's tennis match Thursday afternoon at Hickey Courts.
The Gauchos came out strong to start the day, capturing all three doubles matches. Uzma Khan and Marielle Gruenig won at No.1 while Andrea Pintar and Leslie Damion and Chelsea Dillon and Jen Kuhle won at No.'s two and three, respectively.
In singles action, UC Santa Barbara won five of six matches, all in straight sets. No. 101 ranked Uzma Khan swept Gretchen Schantz 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
