PHOENIX, Ariz. - The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis dropped a 4-3 decision to the University of Denver Friday in Phoenix. The Gauchos began the match with a strong showing in doubles play. UCSB won at both the No. 1 and 2 spots to win the doubles point. The Gauchos managed only two singles wins to lose the match.
No. 78 ranked Uzma Khan continues her winning streak at No. 1 singles. Khan defeated Denver's Yanick Dullens 6-3, 6-1 for her third straight win. UCSB's other singles win was in the No. 6 spot where Jennifer Kuhle defeated Maru Altamirano 6-2, 6-4.
The Gauchos meet Northern Arizona Saturday in Phoenix.
