MALIBU, Calif. - Uzma Khan won at No. 1 singles in UC Santa Barbara's 6-1 loss at Pepperdine. The Waves won the doubles point and went on to win five of the singles matches.
Khan defeated Pepperdine's Monika Horvath 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles in her second win of the season. Khan began 2003 ranked #78 in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
The Gauchos begin a three-match road trip when they travel to Phoenix Jan. 31-Feb. 2. UCSB meets Denver Friday, Northern Arizona Saturday and Grand Canyon College Sunday.
The Gauchos fall to 1-1 on the season.
