Austin, Texas- The UC- Santa Barbara women's swimming team took an elite group of women to the Texas Invitational over the weekend.
Sophomore Lindsay Dalonzo came up big breaking two UCSB school records in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Dalanzo broke her own mark in the 200 backstroke lowering it over two seconds to a time of (1:59.00). Her time in the 100 backstroke of (55.20) broke the previous mark held teammate Julia King. Both times were just off the NCAA automatic qualification in each event respectively.
Other notable performances came from Julia King turned in three NCAA consideration performances in the 50 free (23.36), 100 free (51.55), and the 100 back (56.06).
Seniors Romina Mosquera and Kristel Haesler, along with junior Stephanie Netzley turned in several noteworthy performances for the weekend. Mosquera turned in two best times in the 100 free (51.99) and 200 free (1:51.82). Haesler also produced two best times in the 200 IM (2:04.79) and the 400 IM (4:23.55). Netzley produced great swims in the 200 free (1:51.10) and 500 freestyles (4:57.94).
