SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team scored two goals in the first 1:54 of its home match against Xavier on Sunday and cruised to a fourth straight win, 4-0.

The Gauchos needed just over 30 seconds to get on the board first. Freshman midfielder Allie Kueny hit junior forward Randi Johns with a pass as Johns streaked up the right sideline. Martinez tucked the ball just inside the left post at the 0:35 mark, giving UCSB the 1-0 advantage.

The Gauchos and Musketeers remained scoreless the remainder of the first half and through the firt 21 minutes of the second half. At 66:42 Martinez took the ball on the upper-lefthand corner of the penalty box and launched a pass to Sandza at the far post. Sandza shoved the ball past Xavier goalkeeper Andrea Garber for her sixth goal of the season, giving UCSB a 3-0 lead.

The Gauchos scored the final goal of the match at the 83:42 mark when senior forward Alex Richey, who was injured much of last season, scored her first goal since the 2001 season, putting home a rebound of a Borcich miss.

For the match, UCSB outshot Xavier by a 24-8 count. Garber produced six saves for the Musketeers and sophomore Jamie Considine, who played the first 81:30 of the match, came-up with four saves for the Gauchos.
