2003: Alma Martinez will once again be an important cog in UCSB's attack...2002: Martinez finished her first season as a Gaucho with four goals and three assists for 11 points...Her goal total ranked third on the team and her point total ranked fifth...She was one of five UCSB players to score ten or more points...Scored her goals against San Diego, Columbia, Idaho and UC Irvine...In her goal-scoring matches against Columbia and Idaho, Martinez also contributed an assist for season-best three-point performances...She played in all 20 matches as a junior, starting 12.

Martinez played two seasons at Santa Barbara City College...She was a two-time Western State Conference Most Valuable Player...As a sophomore, she was guided SBCC to a Western State Conference championship...In both of her seasons at SBCC, Martinez was named the Western State Conference Most Valuable Player, All-WSC and All-State...Scored 17 goals as a sophomore.

Martinez played for the Empire Club...She prepped at Santa Barbara High School where she played left forward for Lito Garcia...Martinez was named Channel League Most Valuable Player as a senior and she was named All-Channel League and All-CIF twice.
