2001 XC Outlook: 
Posted impressive credentials in track that need to translate to fast cross country marks for the team to have the depth necessary to compete at the national level.

2001 Track Recap: 
Earned All-Conference honors by placing 3rd in the 10,000m race at the Big West Championships. Doubled back for an impressive race in the 5,000m race the next day, running a lifetime best of 14:48.71, good for 7th place. Also ran a personal best of 30:15.21 in the 10k, the school's 8th fastest mark.

Coach's notes:
 
Finished as the team's 3rd man at the NCAA Regional  Cross Country Championships with a 32:07 10k time and a 43rd place finish.... Finished 24th at the 2000 Big West Championships as the team's 5th man.... As a prep athlete, won the ’97 CA State Division V XC Championships with a 15:59 at Woodward Park.  Also ran 9:12.06 for 3200m to qualify for the state meet out of Southern Section, finishing 9th at the state meet running 9:20.78.

Personal Info:  Has a strong history of running within his family.  His mother, Debra Sharp, qualified for the 1988 U.S. Olympic trials in the marathon.  She also coached Aaron in high school.  Aaron's father Gene Sharp was his coach at Oxnard JC.
