Mike Hoy competed two seasons at Los Angeles Valley College...Selected first team all-conference as a freshman in 2001 and second team all-conference as a sophomore in 2002...Ranked third in the state in saves as a sophomore in 2002...Hoy was in the Honors Program at LAVC...A member of the LAVC Dean's List, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society...Had a 3.7 GPA at LAVC and was a STAR Test Scholarship recipient.

Attended Crescenta Valley High School where he played for Pete Loporchio and Jan Sakonja...Selected First Team All-Pacific League in 1999 and 2000...Also chosen First Team All-Area by the Los Angeles Times in 2000 and Second Team All-CIF in 1999 and 2000...His 596 career saves ranks second on La Crescenta Valley's all-time list...Logged 251 steals in his career, including a school-record 13 in one match...Helped his high school to four Pacific League titles and an appearance in the CIF Division III finals in 1999...Also competed in swimming and diving as a prep athlete.
