SANTA BARBARA, - The UC Santa Barbara men's volleyball team opens with Cal State Northridge Friday, January 9, in the 8-team UCSB/Elephant Bar Collegiate Invitational. The Gauchos play the Matadors at 7:00 pm in UCSB's Rob Gym. Three other matches will also begin at 7:00 pm Friday. No. 1 seed Long Beach State plays No. 8 seed Stanford, No. 2 seed UC Irvine plays No. 7 seed USC and No. 3 seed UCLA plays No. 6 seed Pacific. The three matches will be played in UCSB Events Center.

Play begins at 10:00 am Saturday with a championship and consolation bracket. The runner-up matches begins at 5:00 pm Saturday with the championship match starting at 7:00 pm. Both matches will be held in Rob Gym.
