Keith Busam led the UC Santa Barbara men's volleyball team with 11 kills to a 30-28, 30-25, 30-22 victory over the Trojans Saturday at the Lyon Center.
USC fell to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the MPSF, while the Gauchos improved to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the MPSF.
Busam, who hit .500 in the match, also had 7 digs, 2 aces and 2 blocks. Teammate Michael Kennedy had 6 blocks and Dave Jensen added 5 blocks.
Ian Gallagher had a match-high 13 kills for the Trojans, while Josh Day hit .917 with 11 kills in 12 attempts. Joao Grangeiro had a match-best 14 digs, and Aaron Mansfield led UCSB with 8 digs.
UCSB outhit USC, .327 to .255, and had 10.0 blocks to USC's 4.5.
The Gauchos host Pacific at Robertson Gym on Friday (Jan. 31) for their first MPSF home match.
