The Gauchos were defeated at Pepperdine Wednesday, 30-8, 30-28, 30-27, earning an overall record of 2-5, with 0-2 in conference play. Pepperdine remains undefeated in MPSF, and 4-1 overall.
Sophomore outside hitter Sean Rooney hit in double digits for the waves, with a match high of 17 kills, and a .556 percentage. Contributing 11 kills of his own, with a .588 percentage, was senior middle blocker Brad Keenan. Keenan also held the match high for blocks, with 8 block assists.
Posting double digits for the Gauchos, outside hitter Nate Wack logged in 14 kills. With the match high for digs, Aaron Mansfield notched 11, out-digging Pepperdine's Mike Gledhill by
4 digs.
UCSB will face the Trojans (0-2 in MPSF) at USC on Saturday, January 25.
