Indiana-Purdue senior Jeff Patk dominated the match Sunday in his first appearance in two years. He posted 12 kills, 8 digs and 2 service aces Sunday, leading Indiana-Purdue, Fort Wayne past UCSB in a nonconference volleyball match 30-27, 30-15, 30-25.
Patk, who redshirted last year with knee problems, hit for a .350 percentage and teammate Matt Zbyszewski bested him with 13 kills and a match-high .579 percentage for the Mastadons (1-1).
Justin Adams led the Gauchos with 9 kills, and a .438 percentage for the match. Coming back after being out with an injury on Friday, Jan Carlo Zegarra hit for .312 with 8 kills.
IPFW outhit UCSB in the last two games, .591 to .071 and .407 to .250.
The Gauchos travel to Pepperdine on Thursday for their second conference match of the season.
