PALO ALTO, Calif. - Junior Nohel Corral blazed to a wind-aided 21.74 in the 200 meter to lead the Gaucho men's team at the Stanford Invitational. Freshman Tetlo Emmen won his heat of the 800 meter in a season best 1:53.34 while Scott McConville kicked to a personal best 3:56.11 in the 1500 meter.
Aaron Sharp ran 29:59.94 for the 10,000 meter which was sixth best all-time. Jeff Gardina won his heat of the 5,000 meter in 14:37.90 and Scott Brandos recorded a lifetime best in the steeplechase of 9:18.74.
Kent Centers ran 15.70 in the 110HH, a personal best 56.57 in the 400 IH and cleared 6-5.50 in the high jump. Three more Gauchos met the Big West Conference standard in the 5,000 meter. Chris White ran a 14:49.66, Art Avitia ran 14:49.99 and JT Service went 14:51.44. Ryan Lockner threw the shot put 47-11.25.
