TEMPE, Ariz. - Several Gauchos posted season best and conference qualifying marks at the Baldy Castillo Invitational Friday and Saturday at Arizona State's Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium.
Senior men's team captain JT Service narrowly missed the NCAA Regional qualifier in the 3000 meter steeplechase of 9:12.00. Service finished third in the event with a final time of 9:13.94.
Nohel Corral ran a season best and conference qualifying 48.38 in the 400 meter while DJ Ozan took second in the 800 meter in a time of 1:53.28. Freshman Tetlo Emmen also notched a Big West qualifying mark with a 1:54.45 to win his heat of the 800 meter.
Redshirt freshman Scott McConville recorded PRs in the 1500 meter with a time of 3:57.51 and 800 meter in 1:55.77. Cheyne Murray threw the discus 162-0 and Richie Alpers had a season best of 148-7 in the hammer throw.
