2002 Track Recap:
After a frustrating season of inconsistancy, one of UCSB's most accomplished athletes concluded his career in an epic 10,000m Championship race. Battling two former conference champs from Cal Poly, the trio of seniors went into the 25th lap still together. But the bell sounded the alarm that Gaucho fans have grown to recognize as Horton's cue for speed, and "the beast" was unleashed as he put 20 meters on the pack with 300 meters to go, and went on to win the race by almost 15 seconds.

2001 XC Recap:
The team's MVP became UCSB's first Cross Country Division 1 All-American with a 17th individual place finish at the NCAA Championships.  Also finished second behind teammate Eric Gans at the Big West Championships, and 8th at the Pre-NCAA Meet.

2001 Track: Smashed the school record in the 10,000 meter race with a time of 29:09, a mark that would send him to the NCAA championships where he finished 15th. Also ran the fastest 5k time of any Big West athlete of 14:20.

2000 Cross Country: Won the Fresno State Invite race, ahead of Pac-10 squads from Stanford and Cal... Led the team at the Stanford Invite with a 5th place finish... 67th place finish at the Pre-NCAA meet... Earned All-Conference honors by finishing 7th at the Big West Championships... Missed earning "All-West Region" honors by one spot after taking 26th at the NCAA Western District championships.
